DNA (Dreams N Ambitions) ripped through the charts in 2006 with his club banger, Banjuka, which is still a huge party anthem. Later during his music career, DNA turned to the Lord and recorded Mtoto Wa Sonko to explain his newfound salvation.
Save for collaborations with Kambua and Isaac Kahura, he has largely kept off the music scene for a while and he called a press conference to explain the break. During the period, he has been experimenting with new material and artistes. He has come to the realization that he can't box himself in on Gospel.
He did not wish to take any questions concerning his faith or family. He did note, however, that he discussed the issue with his family before arriving to a conclusion. They support his decision and that is all that matters to him right now.
The artiste clarified that he is still strong in faith and is not going back to do the things that destroyed him before. He is older and a better man now, and it is not that he has backslided.
The first track to be released after this announcement, which will surely draw a lot of debate, is Maswali Ya Polisi. You can check it out the video here.
