A company that is launching its services in Nairobi found itself in hot soup today over a promotional feature on its website with some descriptions about Kenya which did not go down too well with citizens on social media.

Korean Air, which will start daily flights between Seoul and Nairobi just this month displayed a promotional banner on its website as shown below:


This highlight caused widespread outrage on sites such as Facebook and Twitter where Kenyans on Twitter (widely referred to as #KOT ) started a trending topic titled ‘Primitive Energy’.
As #PrimitiveEnergy metamorphosed into more comical displays as well as even more outrageous tweets, Korean Air came out apologetic on Twitter saying:
