Camp Mulla Confirm Album Title

Camp Mulla's first album will be called Funky Town. In a recent interview with Arise Magazine, they spoke about their unplaceably distinct sound, sharing responsibilities and their new album, whose title will likely be stylized as FuNkYToWN.

The name FuNkYToWN has cropped up a couple of times, most notably on their last video, Hold It Down (254Low Tribute). In the interview, they finally confirmed it as the album title. The album is expected to come out soon and will feature most of the Camp Mulla music that has been released over the past year and a half. This means that most of the earlier music that was made before Miss Karun joined the group will probably not be in the record.

Funky Town is also the title of '80s disco hit from the group, Lipps Inc, but for Camp Mulla it represents the funkiness of their capital city, Nairobi. In a past interview with Channel O, they said Collo (Party Don't Stop) might be the only guest artiste in the entire album.

On being asked about the rumors that they are being courted by Universal Music Group, Taio Tripper maintained that they are still part of Sub Sahara records but added, "a couple of other record labels are in talks with our management though and we’ll keep you updated on any developments."

On BET, Karun said, "just the nomination is a win." The members were more excited about the stars they were going to meet at the ceremony. Unfortunately, the group was later unable to travel for the show. The award for "Best International Act: Africa" went to Sarkodie and WizKid.
