Shuga Radio surrounds the life of a 19-year old girl, Sofia, who faces tough choices in her life, from leaving her family and village to going to her long lost love in the city of Kisumu and falling for its temptations... or not.
The underlying theme of this initiative, pieced together by MTV and UNICEF is HIV awareness, in a part of the world that experiences a high prevalence rate but with an increasingly knowledgeable populace willing to meet the global target of zero new infection rates, in line with the UNAIDs agenda.
The radio drama is a gripping tale, with each of the episodes averaging about 8 minutes of broadcast. If missed, you can catch up on your favourites on the MTV Shuga website: Shuga.TV.
