Makadara MP, ex con and unofficial government clown, Mike Sonko is set to appear on Jaguar's upcoming music video for Matapeli. The song is actually about how Kenyan politicians have pillaged the country at the expense of the people but Sonko will appear as a poor, ordinary mwananchi, not a politician who fought the state for his right to have vanity plates on his Hummer.
Sonko's bit of the video was shot at City Market on Muindi Mbingu Street right next to the Boniface Mwangi's vulture murals. Sonko is a first-term MP seeking governorship in the next elections. Others who will appear in the video include Mhesh, Otoyo and Njoroge of Papa Shirandula.
Jaguar's Matapeli comes off the success of his hit, Kigeugeu, one of the most popular songs of the last two years and one of the most viewed Kenyan videos on YouTube. From the gist of it, it looks like the video will look like Kigueugeu's.
