The African Gospel Music Awards took place at the Hippodrome in London over the weekend. By the end of the night, three Kenyan artistes were among those whose names were on the winners' list.
The Radio Presenter of the Year Award was a tie between Anthony Ndiema of Kenya and Ghana's Fifi Folson. The award was sponsored by Voice of Africa Radio. A Kenyan tied up for another award when Billy Frank was jointly announced with Nigeria's Wole Oni as Music Producer of the Year. The award was sponsored Pauline Long Beffta.
The biggest award of the night went to none other than Emmy Kosgei when she won the Lyca Mobile-sponsored Song of the Year. Ololo beat out fellow Kenyan entry, Eko Dydda's Psalm 23 and eight other nominees. Emmy Kosgei was the only Kenyan who had been picked to perform at the show and she had the most nominations overall. She lost three other nominations, East African Artiste of the Year, Best Female Artiste and Album of the Year for Ololo.
