Kenyan Radio Host Jailed For Sending Sexually-Graphic Photos To A Minor

A Kenyan radio host was apprehended by New York Port Authority police on June 4th as he was trying to depart to Kenya. The man, police say sent sexually-graphic photographs of himself to a Penn Township girl has been arrested.

According to Lancaster New Era (Lancaster Online), New York Port Authority police apprehended Denzil Edunglot Musumba, 30, last month as he was trying to depart the port for Kenya, Northern Lancaster County Regional police said. Musumba has a last-known address in Silver Spring, Md.

He was arrested on a fugitive from justice warrant related to charges of corruption of a minor and unlawful contact with a minor for sending sexually-graphic images of himself to a 17-year-old Penn Township girl, police said.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office arranged extradition and Musumba was returned to Lancaster County and arraigned on the charges on Thursday. He was committed to Lancaster County Prison.


Musumba is the founder and proprietor of East Africa Radio USA which is an online radio station that caters for Kenyans in the Diaspora. Earlier this year he contested the Teso South parliamentary seat on a KNC ticket but was unsuccessful.

Before, he left for the US, Musumba worked with Radio Simba and Radio Umoja. He had earlier on worked with Uganda’s Tororo Rock FM as a Kiswahili newsreader and sport show presenter before later moving to West FM in Bungoma where hosted a talk show on HIV/Aids as well a sports show.
