By now you are familiar with the Nokia: Don't Break The Beat finalist and winner of the East African contest. Xcalibar came out of the contest not just as the winner of the Sh. 250, 000, but also the one who gets all the deals and perks that come with the King of Freestyle title.

So, we managed to get the winner of the just concluded Nokia: Don't Break The Beat East Africa contest, Xcalibar in the Ghafla! offices and got to know a lot about the guy, aside from what he plans to do with the Sh. 250, 000 he won.

So, the just concluded Nokia: Don't Break The Beat East Africa contest saw Kenya take the money and stand its ground. Xcalibar and Ojiji went head to head with the other East African rappers on stage up till the finals.

It is an undeniable fact that that female rapper Xtatic is not just another ordinary rapper, and she knows it too. How else could she have been named MTV Iggy's artiste of the week, a few weeks ago?

It was indeed an epic night. Raw freestyle battles back to back, accompanied by performances from established artistes. The crowd lovely and the music awesome, just what was expected at the Nokia Don't Break the Beat finals.

Hardly a week has past and Ojiji is already ahead with his music. Unlike most rappers who emerge from talent search contests such as the Nokia: Don't Break The Beat and disappear never to be heard of again almost immediately when the contest is over, Ojiji is not about to hang his gloves any time soon.

Crowd favourite and immensely talented freestyler lost out in the final...

Nokia Don't Break The Beat Finals going down tomorrow.

The battle still goes on even after most of the rappers have been kicked out for failing to match up with the obviously hotter rappers.

This contest is bringing out talent that would have been otherwise forever unknown, as extremely good rappers suffice onto the stage to battle it out for the Sh. 200, 000 prize money.
