Aaron Rimbui to Perform Live & Free

Roots International presents another week of live, acoustic and jazz performances. Last week, they brought you Lulu Abdalla and this week it's Aaron Rimbui.

Former Tusker Project Fame contestant and runner-up Peter Msechu tried out for two top American talent search reality shows. In an interview to air on Mambo Mseto later today, he explains his experience trying to get into The Voice and X-Factor.

In an interview with 99 Degrees singer Size 8 spoke about her music and the struggles she has faced including self-esteem issues, which you can read about here.

She also revealed that she actually auditioned for the talent reality contest, Tusker Project Fame. Those who follow the show know that they never saw her on it because she never even made it through the audition. But it wasn't because of her talent, it was because of the contest's strict rules.

"So, I said, what do I have in my hands? I have a voice that God gave me free of charge. My sister told me, 'there's TPF, go try.' So, I went for TPF auditions, Clemo is the one who did it. So, when I entered the room, Clemo just told me, 'Linet, you're not 21 so you can't audition.'

So I felt like crying, I was like what the...? I've woken up at 4:00 to come here, it's chilly, it's cold. I was there by 6 o'clock. I was like, now what am I going to do with my life? Then I told him, 'No, give me even if it's 10 seconds just listen to my voice.' He was like, 'Even if we give you 10 seconds, there's no way you can go 'cos you're not 21.' I was 20.

I was like, 'No, I'm going to sing. Just give me even five.' So I sang and then he told me, 'Yeah, you have a good voice but you can't join TPF 'cos of the rules. What you can do is come to Calif and you can start with your music.' That's how I started officially and that's how I joined the industry."

The First Ever TPF Album to Be Released Today

People have been saying that nothing meaningful ever comes out of Tusker Project Fame. Well, this season, the organizers are planning to prove naysayers wrong.

When she got kicked out from the last season of Tusker Project Fame, many said it was because of her fairly unpolished looks. Many came out to Juliet Karanja's aid to make her more superstar-like.

Even before the end of Project Fame, Juliet won another talent contest. She was picked by Coca-Cola as one of the two artistes who would perform the Olympic anthem. Months after the drama, she is to launch a new look in 10 days.
