12 years a slave has certainly lived up to the hype as the most realistic depiction of slavery as it is has turned on the water works for a lot of moviegoers.
It seems that we are not the only ones leaving movie theatres in tears, celebrities such as Oprah Winfrey and Madonna have been moved to tears due to this Steve McQueens movie. Oprah confessed in an interview with BBC that she was moved to tears after watching this heartbreaking film.
“It’s impossible for me to talk about it,” she told BBC Arts Editor Will Gompertz as she teared up.”I can’t even talk about it.Devastating.”
Reports say that even ‘Material Gir’l singer Madonna was also spotted leaving the film’s premiere recently during the New York Film Festival.
