6 Things You Never Knew About Journalist/ Blogger Dennis Itumbi

You definitely know him for unearthing some of the most concealed ills in the country. You also know him for breaking news earlier than even most (if not all) media houses. Well, Dennis recently made some revelations about his past that he remembers with great nostalgia. So here we go;

#1 One time while still in college together with a famous TV journalist whom he didn’t name staged an act at Kencom Stage about the coming of Anti-Christ and for their troubles they raised quite a sum thereby sorting their fare to South B from Town.

#2 He has lived in Mukuru kwa Njenga and one time had his house locked for failing to pay Shs. 2,800 rent.

#3 Itumbi came to Nairobi for the first time (as an adult) on a Valentine day, got lost and with 1,000 bob as pocket money. He fondly remembers he had a Maroon and cream Kaunda Suit (It was the closest he had to Red).

#4 He first dated in Church – he was not Nairobi Girl Savvy yet, he told her stories of how he milked, herded cattle and took coffee to the factory with a cow driven cart. “I guess she loved my narration skills, but did not get the inside story of struggle and promise,” says Dennis.

#5 In his childhood he once went home with a movie titled “Body Chemistry 3”, believing innocently it was a Chemistry movie, only for it to turn out to be p0rn as his mum and his siblings waited for the video teacher to begin his/her lessons. He remembers hearing so many “Good-nights” at the same time that day.

#6 In high school Itumbi was poor in Sciences. When he did his KCSE he declined to undertake the food test during the practicals, instead he ate his pineapple and filled the paper with guesswork, incidentally Biology was still his best performed Science.
