A recent protest against the IEBC by the opposition turned gruesome after the protestors were beaten ferociously by police, forcing them to ditch the protest and flee amid teargas and baton-wielding riot police.
One scene that stood out was of one man, later identified as Boniface Manono running then being chased after by riot police before he fell and hit the pavement. Two police officers are seen thoroughly thrashing him with a baton across his body as he lies still. Soon after this incident, media houses broke the news that that man was dead.
He is however alive and revealed that he learned of his ‘death’ while listening to the radio in the morning.Following this incident, Boniface later sat down for interviews with various media houses making him and overnight celebrity.
