PHOTOS: Teacher Draws Microsoft Word Screen On Blackboard Due to Lack Of Facilities

Teachers don’t get paid enough in the country.

In Ghana, teachers are some of the worst paid public servants in Ghana. Also, a lot of schools don’t have adequate facilities for efficient teaching and learning. It is especially sad when it comes to science and ICT.

Yesterday, a couple of photos started circulating on social media. The photos were heartbreaking for all the wrong reasons. A teacher was forced to draw a computer screen on the blackboard. This was in order to teach students ICT.

Otherwise, he would simply have to talk in the abstract because there are no computers to use.

On the one hand, the teacher is a hero for thinking about his students. On the other, it is unthinkable that in 2018 a lot of schools are without these basic amenities.

Morever, the photos have sparked outrage over how teachers often have to suffer to get their messages across. However, at the end they are not treated well.

Furthermore, with such an environment how do the students compete? Ghana needs to do right by the future leaders.
