Gospel Artiste Set On Fire For Allegedly Rejecting Sexual Advances

An upcoming female gospel artiste is nursing severe injuries in a hospital in Nairobi after being set on fire by her friend for refusing to give in to his sexual demands.

The singer, Cecilia Wangari, alleges she was burnt in the face, hands and legs when a man she had contracted to distribute her music set a house they were in on fire after she refused to give in to his sexual demands.

The 30 year old says that they were from night prayers when the accused suggested that they should pass by his house to collect the money accrued from the sale of some of her albums.

In the house, Cecilia says the man started making sexual advances towards her, demanding that she ‘chotea’ him something for the night.

When the singer refused to give in, the alleged pervert got irritated and took out paraffin, quickly poured it all over, locked the door and set the house ablaze.

Cecilia says she screamed and attracted neighbours who took time to break in and rescue her and the man. She wonders that the accused did not say a word as the fire grew bigger and hotter.

The victim is nursing her injuries at Prestige Healthcare facility in Githurai 44 after sustaining 25 % burn injuries.

The singer is married and is undergoing psychological counseling to relieve her trauma. Her husband is too undergoing the same because it is reported he at first failed to understand why his wife was in the accomplice’s house at that time.
