The Police Ultimately Discloses Why They Mistook Redsan For a Terrorist
The police have given details of what really made them to arrest Kenya’s dancehall star Redsan; they claimed that Redsan and his colleagues had behaved in a suspicious manner to raise eyebrows.
Kilimani OCPD Mr.Peter Katam disclosed that Redsan and his compatriots had approached one of the entry gates at the Nairobi International Trade Fair and refused to be searched contrary to the tradition of screening anyone who enters the showground; Redsan’s entourage then left the ASK show as they were not willing to be subjected to search. This was after one of Redsan’s acquaintances was said to be seen with a gun. The situation raised the police’s suspicion and mistook the musician’s entourage as terrorists or thugs whose mission had just flopped.
The police quickly mobilized their resources and intercepted Redsan along Uhuru Highway in company of three other friends and they took them in custody where they spent the Friday night until Saturday afternoon when they were cleared of all charges. The police revealed that the person who had a gun was found to be licensed to carry the fire arm hence their release from the cell. Hope Redsan learnt a thing or two from the incident; I mean the police’s triggers at times are very loose, anything could have easily happened.
