Meet The Totally-Hot Official Churchill Show DJ

Any event, be it a private party or a large public event needs the right mix of music to set the preferred mood. DJs play a big part in the success of an event but until recently, they went unacknowledged. DJs’ Pinye and Adrian are considered pioneers and have turned what was once considered a hobby into a fully fledged industry.

Deejaying has become a socially acceptable and lucrative career. One DJ who has seen the major potential that this industry has is DJ E. He is perhaps best known as the official Churchill Show, Churchill Raw and Kids Festival DJ.

Doing What He Does Best

What started as a hobby ten years ago for the DJ has turned into his full time job. “My neighbor was a music producer with lots of equipment and I would hang around his studio a lot. He didn’t mind me experimenting with his equipment,” E says. Within no time he was accompanying the said producer to DJ at clubs within their neighborhood. “He would let me finish up his sets and after a while, he began trusting me enough to hold fort when he was double booked on weekends.”

Soon enough he was Deejaying for campus parties and this led to him landing jobs at renowned establishments such as the Safari Park Hotel, The Blix Lounge and The Carnivore Simba Saloon. “I have been fortunate enough to work with renowned DJs such as DJs’ Nijjo, Gichboy, Gap and Mobi. I have observed their techniques and crowd interaction and used it to up my game,” says E. To keep sharp, he also produces mixtapes and makes sure he mixes a music set every day.

DJ E founded Mzuka Media Group in 2010 in an attempt to make sure that by the time he is reaching his prime, he will have a group of protégés to pass the torch to. “My friend DJ Qhav is already a budding Club DJ. So are DJs Nick and Frakas. I salute my whole Mzuka Family.”
