When you are a star a large number of times, overzealous fans and filthy crooks tend to impersonate you. It is rather unfortunate when the impersonators try to extort money from your fans.

This has happened to many including Vera Sidika. Of late there have been allegations that singer Avril is extorting money from her fans for a few favours.Turns out this is untrue and Avril is merely a victim of an impersonator . Avril posted this warning to her fans

Fam I have received reports from most of you about someone posing as me on social media and luring young girls to pay for enrolments for supposed employment. Please, I have said this so many times, I DO NOT conduct any business on social media let alone have an employment agency. Please be careful and do not be naive because cons will always be with us and I would hate to have anyone hurt or stolen from in the pursuit of trying to get a career going in whatever field that these people are proposing.
