I ran for a position as an MCA and received 44 votes- Priscilla Wa Imani

Priscilla Wa Imani gained popularity for her unique whistling trend, which she first started during her political campaign.

In an interview with Jeff Kuria, she recounted her experience running for a political seat, specifically aiming to become the MCA of Salam ward in Laikipia county. Despite her efforts, she only received 44 votes and did not resort to bribery during her campaign.

Feeling disappointed and embarrassed after her loss, Wa Imani retreated to her home to reflect on her defeat.

Upon the suggestion of her children, who were fans of Azziad on TikTok, she decided to join the platform and express herself authentically. Initially unsure of what her kids saw in her, she posted a video of herself whistling on TikTok.

The video caught the attention of Maina Kageni, who shared it on social media, leading to its viral spread.

As her whistling videos gained traction, Wa Imani began receiving opportunities and even had the chance to meet Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja, which she credits as a turning point in her life.

Meeting Sakaja gave her a newfound voice and opened up doors to various opportunities in her life.
