Introducing Kenya’s most Venomous Haters: Kenyans On Twitter And Underground Artists!

I have had it said countless times before that underground artists are their own worst enemies! I have heard the likes of Khaligraph Jones say it repeatedly. Even legends such as Gwiji of Ukoo Flani-Mau Mau said it in reference to a group that goes by the name Room 16.

And I have witnessed it 1st hand. I would say that underground artists are the most toxic haters but that would be to take away from KOT’s shine! Because say what you will, Kenyans on Twitter take the cake!
But more on KOT later. For now let me concentrate on underground artists. The mentality that seems rife on the underground seen is that of crabs in a barrel. Kenyan artists who are yet to go mainstream look like they support each other to anyone staring in from the outside but nay! They are the most toxic music critiques!

Many a time I have heard people who only have lyrics on Facebook or people who freestyle in town by some public toilet while imbibing cheap liquor talk utter rubbish about fellow artists whether mainstream or otherwise. and my case in point is the article I did yesterday: Attention Hip Hop Heads: This Is The Newest Hip Hop Artist Disturbing The Peace! even Capital FM Have Paid Homage!

Some lad came out talking utter garbage about the lad Mohamed Amin simply because he has started making ripples. The lad went on a toxic rant about rapping in Swahili yet the lad speaking the loudest doesn’t have even one song under his belt… No, I will not talk about what else he lacks in the region under the belt.

Then there are Kenyans on Twitter. Allow me to clarify; while some are mature, some are just crabs and I do not mean the crustaceans! Some post useful information while others think they are cool for tearing down other human beings.
I have said this and I will say this again, no lad, you’re not intelligent for being a bully and your brand of toxic humour is insipid.

Kenyans on Twitter think it a badge of honour to try and bully other people and at times even other African nations but like every bully, it always shows lack of mettle and nads. Remember the fiasco of #SomeoneTellNigeria? We stung you where it matters: on the pitch! If football were a tweet Kenya would have won though!

And I am angry at this lot because they are the educated lot of Kenyans: lower to upper middle class of Kenya’s quasi socio-econoomic strata. I know I lost many there but what I mean is that KOT are Kenya’s middle class.
They are the people who can make a real change in Kenya’s entertainment industry but they would rather defecate on their own.

Building Kenya’s entertainment industry is a job for Kenyans. Support your own, give constructive criticism and let the positivity flow. Tear down your own and remain in entertainment obscurity. But what do I care? Ice Prince clinched that B.E.T Award for Naija the best you have done is to tear at your nominees!
