Some myths speculate that the phrase originates from Dutch etiquette. Apparently, in the Netherlands, it is not unusual to pay separately when dating.

And now the term is the subject of a brand new track by the ever phenomenal Fena Gitu, Kagwe Mungai and Toshi. The track was produced by Jaaz Odongo, Ghafla! nominee for Producer of the Year 2012, who also worked on Fena’s last hit Africa Massive.
