He might just slow down the mind but will definitely give you something to laugh about while on the way. Ever since Mbusii joined the Ghetto radio crew and got his own show, he has come up with some of the most popular slang catch phrases in Nairobi.
Mbusii so far has single handedly put some words on the streets. Some of phrases might even have more than one meaning. These are some of those crazy catch phrases and other things that he has made popular among the Kenyan youth.
1. Dem a kwom inna di babylon, dem a kwom inna da rrrr… rrr… ah rasta man a bwoh!
Honestly, I have no idea where this came from. This must have required a ridiculous amount of marijuana to come up with. This is one of the introduction phrases that Mbusii starts his show with.
2. Kumba toto si totoise
I am confident that this referrers to the beautiful ladies and the phrase simply encourages you to go forth and get yours. Get with the program and something similar to that.
3. Kung’uta miwa kung’ukung’u
Okay, now this right here, is a very confusing phrase. It all depends on your hood. Some hoods take this phrase to mean ‘smoking of the herb’. Some hood take it us ‘get your hustle on’. That is just about all I know about it.
4. Hakuna Mbrrrr
This right here is the most popular phrase that Mbusii has given to the Kenyan youth. I mean, this phrase blew up almost a week after he had touched the mic in the studio. This simply means, ‘relax. Ain’t no problem/stress.’
5. Nyahunyo nyahu nyahu
This phrase comes from a segment of his show that has a similar title. They use this phrase in the process of punishing the foolish offenders of the society with the famous ‘ah Lion deh’ by his side.
6. Kuhorololiwa
I’ll be real with you. I have no clue what this is, till today. Nor does anyone in the office.
7. Wolan
This simply means ‘hold on’ and is said in the Jamaican accent. It is also used in greetings.
8. The Ghetto prayer
This guy created his own version of the Lord’s prayer. I know many Christians has since then been extremely offended by this version, but you gotta agree, this is some funny stuff:
“Mungu baba Mwenyezi,
tunakuja hapa mbele zako kama Bonoko na Mbusi
tunaomba by the love of Mbusi
and the fellowship of the Ghetto Family
be with us now, and forever more!
SWEEEEP OVER MY SOOOOOOOUUULLLLLL!
SWEEEEEP OVER MY SOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUL!”
