Big shots of Kenyan music (the REAL Kenyan celebrities)

Let’s face it. Kenyan is full of artistes of all kinds that are all suddenly claiming celebrity status and demanding celebrity treatments and some really get offended if they are treated like any other normal citizen.

There are actually very few Kenyan artistes that live the real glamorous, on-the-fast lane celebrity life. These are the very few that you would really get excited on seeing should you get a glance at them at an event or anywhere else, and mind you, they also got the money to back it up. These right here, are the celebrities that you will NOT meet with, in a jav (matatu). The big shot artistes.

10. Madtraxx

He has a crazy name that defines exactly what he does… making mad tracks… pure hits. With chart topping tracks like those of Madtraxx, you can’t live an average life.

9. Amani

Rolling with international artistes all over the world, including R Kelly on the ONE 8 Campaign, Amani is not just another artiste.

8. Suzzannne Owiyo

She is one of the most sought after artiste for African concerts abroad. She even receives celebrity treatment in the states and everywhere else. She is like royalty in some of these concerts.

7. Nameless

You just need to attend one Nameless concert for you to know that very few Kenyan artiste can fit in his shoes. Ladies screaming everywhere, autograph requests every other second. This man cannot walk in the CBD anymore, for his own safety.

6. Juliani

Even with all the fame and money that he has ripped from all his hard work, this is still one of the most humble Kenyan celebrities seen yet. He is a man but still manages to turn heads everywhere he walks through and he rolls like one too.

5. Wyre

This is another hit maker that can’t walk into a store without getting stopped or mobbed by groupies. I know it’s all for love, but this is just too much ladies.

4. Bamboo

Soon after coming back to his homeland, Bamboo is one of the most identifiable and recognised Kenyan rappers yet. This is one of the very few Kenyan celebrities who actually have an entourage.

3. Camp Mulla

There is no doubt about that. Hate them or love them, these guys are real celebrities not only in Kenya, but all over the world.

2. Stella Mwangi aka STL

She walks in the club or wherever it may be, and she immediately becomes the topic of conversation, not to mention the next stop for everyone (even the other celebrities). She got the looks and money to back that up too.

1. Prezzo

I honestly think he is currently the biggest deal in Kenya right now, whether he has a recent song or not. He just stands out on his own standards and he has a presence that even the biggest of his haters can feel. Nothing screams “celebrity” more than a paparazzi magnet, and this is it.
