Camp Mulla, Coldplay and Ice Prince Hook Up For Humanitarian Project
Camp Mulla, Ice Prince and Coldplay will join hands to fight hunger in the Sahel region of West Africa. The project by Oxfam looks to alleviate hunger in the desert region of Sahel.
Coldplay have previously worked with Oxfam and other NGOs on humanitarian projects around the world. Coldplay have received over 20 Grammy nominations and won seven throughout their career. Ice Prince has been nominated for a number of awards in his native Nigeria and won a few. Camp Mulla won Best New Artist and Best Collaboration at this year’s CHAT Awards.
Oxfam puts the number of those affected by the humanitarian crisis to be close to 18 million people. The Sahel region stretches over a huge part of mid-North Africa cutting through the Sahara desert and over Sudan, Chad, Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, Benin, Mauritania among others.
The Sahel region boasts one of the earliest civilizations in Africa, but is now battling for its people’s survival. The UN, FAO and other NGOs have already started getting involved in trying to alleviate the problem.
