Blast From The Past: Sauti Sol’s Bien

Here is an old track from DJ Nefa. But the person you should be concentrating on is the guy chanting Pesa at the chorus and belting it out on the second verse.

He went on to do a hugely successful track, Muzik Ya Soul with Labalaa, Agano and Herum. But he is mostly known as the co-frontman of one of the most popular groups in the country, Sauti Sol. With ‘Sol, he has performed at South by Southwest, Big Brother Africa Stargame eviction show and even had an EP produced by none other than Spoek Mathambo.

At this point, he was already in Sauti Sol, so that explains why he sounds like the Bien we now know. The track was recorded in 2007 by Madtraxx.
