This Australian Artist is Giving All His Earnings to Kenyans With AIDS

Bryan D. Jones is a Sydney-based gospel artist who has rallied his fellow Australians to make an album named “Live In Me” to support AIDS orphans back here in Kenya. In an interview with The Sun Telegraph, he shared his reasons for his charitable efforts:

“There are two million orphans in Kenya alone who are being wiped out by AIDS,” Jones said. “That’s staggering, considering it’s a country of 30 million. It’s like a generation of parents are completely gone.”

Wondering how he got so much love for Kenya? Read on.

“My brother came back from Kenya and told me that I had to get involved,” Jones recalled. “I just didn’t want to give money, that wouldn’t have been the way to go. So I decided to use my songwriting, and use those proceeds.”

Touching. Eventually, Jones went to Nashville, Tenn., and met up with producer Kim Copeland to record an album.

“There are musicians and singers who work with the best in the business,” Jones said.

Jones has promoted the album in a variety of ways, through Airplaydirect.com, iTunes.com, cdbaby.com and amazonmp3.com. You can search for the album in those websites and support the cause as well.

To date, the campaign is a resounding success. Jones has raised enough through sales to have two children’s homes built in Kenya. And he’s shooting for a third.

Late last year, Jones entered his album, and a single, “Burn,” to the IMA. He learned a few weeks ago that both entries have been chosen.

“I’m pretty excited about it,” Jones said.
