Kenya got talent, but parents are killing it

We always complain that Kenyan’s lack talent, and even saying that the crop of artistes we have are not creative. To some extent they have a point but if we look back,

we found out that most Kenyan parents normally kill’s this talents at the crucial point where it’s needed to be nurtured.

Americans are very successful because they always nurture young talents whenever they see one. People like Michael Jackson, Madonna, Usher Raymond, Bow wow and the others started singing at a tender age. Their parents were always there for them for moral and financial support.

There is that notion in Kenya that for you to succeed in life you must have a college degree of which is true, but we should always remember that the most paying jobs are talents.

As a country we should try to help these emerging talents in order to achieve the vision 2030 goal. Let the young generation be self employed and not sitting idle in their parent’s houses because there are no employment opportunities.

Our parents should learn from their American counterparts. People like Nameless, Amani, Wahu and others have those degrees, but they earn from music. The Camp Mulla’s and Sauti sol are still in universities but they are making money due to talent.
