76 Chinese Nationals Could Be Behind Hacking Of Accounts And Other Cyber-related Crimes In Kenya

 

The country was shell-shocked when 76 Chinese nationals were flushed out of a house in Runda, thanks to the fire that broke out at the house killing one of them and attracting the attention of security officers.

The Chinese nationals are suspected to be behind cyber crimes and other related activities after being alleged to have established a cyber command system and having access to the Kenyan cyber space undetected.

This drew the attention of the government as the foreigners are believed to be a big threat to the cyber security in the Kenya.

Among those visited the house in Runda were Information Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’I, Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs Amina Mohammed and Director of Criminal Investigations Ndegwa Muhoro, clearly indicating the seriousness of the latest developments.

Dr. Matiang’I wondered that there are foreigners in the country who are likely to collapse information systems in Kenya.

The Chinese nationals have already appeared in court to face charges related to cyber crime.
