Jimwatt and Bamzigi Open Up About Their Traumatic Experience as Drug Addicts

In a world filled with debauchery, drugs, free alcohol, bad publicity and unending pressure, staying clean is easier said than done, even gospel artistes slip and fall.

Jimwatt and Bamzigi are among the increasingly large number of artistes who have slipped and drowned into drug and alcohol addiction, but luckily they have managed to resurface. But not without a vicious fight with drugs and alcohol.

Speaking to Larry Madowo, the two share their stories of battling with addiction and a victorious comeback into the entertainment scene. Jimwatt is up on his feet and on his way to once again become one of Genge’s most bankable and highly paid musicians.

Bamzigi is also trying to make a comeback with music and is set to establish Kenya’s very own Disneyland.

But not so long ago, they were both barely functioning, due to their drinking and drug abuse. Jimwatt was rehabilitated for alcohol abuse and has been clean for 10 months, for Bamzigi getting clean was harder than expected since Rehab centers for Cocaine and Heroin were difficult to get.He however managed to get one and has been clean for 7 years.
