Kenyans have grown immensely intelligent, thanks to advanced technology and the expansion of the social media which has made the world a global village.
However, Ghafla Kenya has exclusively learnt that despite the Kenyan public becoming intellectually well equipped, majority of them are using this for the wrong reasons.
Hacking of accounts has become a global nightmare for many. It was just recently when celebrity accounts were hacked and their nude photos exposed to the public. This caused massive indignation from both the victims and the public, leading to an investigation by the FBI into the saga.
And now in Kenya, celebrities are facing the brutality of the hackers, albeit without their knowledge. Ghafla can EXCLUSIVELY reveal that hackers have gone a notch higher to effect their ill-motives by hacking into celebrity accounts, specifically on Facebook, without necessarily changing the administration of the page.
This they do by still leaving the celebrities to run their accounts but the hackers themselves have access to the accounts and can post anything or sell the accounts to the black market without the knowledge of the owner of the page/account.
The black market is full of the selling of celebrity accounts without the knowledge of the celebrities themselves. To prove this, we delved into the black market to get an account with a good number of likes and believe it or leave it, we were shocked just like you will be shocked after learning whose account(s) has been hacked.
Among the accounts that were in hand for sale were those of Radio Citizen’s Mzazi Willy M Tuva and those for singers JULIANI, RABBIT and ELANI.

When we contacted Mzazi to ascertain whether he knows that his account has been hacked, Mzazi was utterly shocked to learn the news, an indication that he was unaware of the incident despite using his page, Mzazi Willy M Tuva, latest being on 13th October 2014 at 12.15 p.m.
