Africa’s Top Dj Creme De La Creme Has This To Tell All Of You….

Once upon a time, there was the ‘telephone farmer’ called Yoram Mwangi. That is how the
hustle started from way young age of 21. Mr. Mwangi used to ‘ímport’ bananas from Kisii town to
Nairobi where he would sell them by use of a phone to connect people (buyers and sellers) , not
really sure whether he was a Nokia ambassador.

He then joined the arts industry where he worked for The Insyder magazine where he organized
the famous Chaguo La Teeniez event. 7 years ago, Mr. Mwangi was still not so into this deejaying story and he visited The Hitlist this past episode to shed more light on the metamorphosis to Dj. Protégé who is considered as one of the

BIGGEST deejays in Kenya. He had the pleasure of being our FIRST guest deejay on the show.

Dj. Protégé also gave his views on the songs that made it to the countdown this week. He gave
thumbs up to the new entrant, Butterfly by Nameless who was our guest artiste last week.Nameless’ track made it to No.10 for this week, meaning there is one track that dropped off the chart.

Elani’s track Kookoo, which was at No.1 for three consecutive weeks dropped off the countdown. Sauti Sol continue with their climb up the charts to Number.2, up one spot. Both Sauti Sol and Elani, one of Kenys’s best bands have been nominated for this year’s Channel O MVA Awards under the Most Gifted East category.Diamond Platinumz features on the countdown 3 times with his solo, Mdogo Mdogo at No.3,dropping one spot.

The only non-mover on the list was STL with Biacara Remix where she has featured top rappers Khaligraph Jones ( who has a new track out, Mr. Embesha) and Kristoff. We at The Hitlist will always bring you the BEST. The panel working on it has really been amazed by the overwhelming support given to Moses Ssali, better known as Bebe Cool his Ugandan fans. He managed to take the top spot for the 2nd week in a row. Big shout out to all those that
passed their support for LOVE YOU EVERYDAY.
