Royal Media Services Gift the National Anthem Composer with a Brand New House (Photo)
In about 2 months, Kenya will be turning 51 years and we have so many things to be thankful for! One of the greatest things we own and are grateful for is our catchy national anthem.
Doesn’t it feel awesome when they play our national anthem after our athletes win? I have to admit my heart swells with pride and that is one of those moments one feels incredibly patriotic. It’s sweet relief from the bickering politicians,KOT roasts and fear of terror attacks .
The beautiful composition that is our National anthem is also enjoyed during public holidays, although some of us cannot make it through the 2nd Stanza without bowing our heads and shaking them in embarrassment after mumbling through the first two lines.
We may have forgotten the words of the National anthem but it is hard to forget the person behind it, Meza Morowa Galana.

His awesomeness, Mzee Galana

He gets two photos for being dapper at 96+
Mzee Galana who will be 96+something this year, was a primary school teacher from Tana River District and composed the anthem at 44 years. The national hymn was inspired by a lullaby his mother used to lull him to sleep so from a sweet lullaby came this great hymn.
Royal Media Services (Citizen TV, Radio Citizen, Inooro Fm, Ramogi F.M e.t.c) honoured this unsung hero by gifting him with a beautiful house.
