Controversial Journalist Enjoys A Small Victory In His Case Against The ICC

Eldoret-Based journalist Walter Barasa who is wanted by the ICC for bribing witnesses had a small victory when the high court ordered the the Inspector General of police, David Kimaiyo to grant him state security.

He however did not succeed in his attempt to stop his imminent arrest and hand-over to the ICC. The journalist had expressed that he was  uncertain about his security stating that he was receiving threats and articulated fears of being kidnapped by ICC agents

His Lawyer Mr. Mungai revealed that the infamous Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph ole Lenku and Attorney-General Githu Muigai had begun the process of arresting Mr. Barasa with complete disregard of the constitution. He added that the reason why the ICC was arresting Barasa was because he refused to witness in the case against Deputy President William Ruto at the Hague so him getting a fair trial at the ICC would be a tall order
