Raphael Tuju Speaks Out About The Death of His Wife’s Lover
Something that started as a secret affair has soon become one of the most public family scandal ever witnessed. Tony Oguda the man in his early 20’s and who has been in the limelight for being in an illicit affair with former Information & Communication Minister Raphael Tuju’s wife was found dead yesterday.
Reached out for comment Tuju, who is in Johannesburg, South Africa said, “I cannot wish anyone death and it is unfortunate he died. Let the police carry out their investigations.”
The cause of Ogunda’s death has sparked a lot of conspiracy theories and speculations in town. However, according to The Standard newspaper, the police discovered a syringe and a bottle lying beside Ogunda’s lifeless body on arriving at the scene of incident. It’s also emerging that despite restrictions from the High Courts barring the deceased from setting foot at any of Tuju’s properties, he breached the law as the the property on which he died in Nairobi’s Upper Hill area hosts the offices of an NGO run by Tuju, Kenya Hope Foundation, and is believed to belong to him.
The late Ogunda was allegedly staying at the house (pictured below) with Ruth Akinyi (Tuju’s wife) sister’s son, Collins Okoth, a student at Utalii College.

Okoth, who was the host explains the events of the fateful night; on Monday night they left residence at around 11PM and headed to town for a couple drinks at Relax Pub which is located along Duruma Road in downtown Nairobi. After the drinks they both left for home at about 2AM, since it’s a small room, Ogunda slept on the couch as Okoth who is slept on the bed.
The next morning (Tuesday), he tried waking him up but he didn’t respond for 40 minutes and that’s when he decided to report the matter to the police at around 7AM. The bottle found beside Ogunda’s body was labelled “Humalog 1DNA 100 gms” with the syringe next it.The drug is used for diabetes treatment.
