Caroline Mutoko Julie Gichuru, Bob Collymore and Other Top Media names and Corporate Personalities Given Special Jobs By The President

The president, Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto have been busy people cutting an image of people on a ledge. Aside from the shuttling around one to the UN Assembly the other to matters Hague, they have had to face considerable flak over teachers strike and the NYS corruption allegations.

It is against this backdrop that the President after consultation with the deputy and other movers in the corridors of power made about 350 new parastatal appointments and surprised us with quite some fresh names the most eye catching being the facet of media personalities.

 

Top among these is the appointment of Royal Media Services’ Julie Gichuru,her CEO Wachira Waruru and Radio Africa’s Caroline Mutoko. Wachira Waruru has been appointed to the board of the Kenya Cultural Center where he will be joined by the celebrated thespian Ted Muthusi. Julie Gichuru and athletics legend Paul Tergat have been named on the board of Brand Kenya. Tergat also gets to serve on the Tourism Finance Corporation board of directors. Caroline Mutoko has been appointed to serve on the board of Kenya Institute of Mass Communication where she will be joined by another media personality Farida Karoney from Citizen TV.

Other notable appointees KCB’s CEO Joshua Oigara and Safaricom CEO Bob Collymore have been appointed to the Vision 2030 Delivery Board where they will be joined up with Juliana Rotich the young innovator celebrated for her role in the development of the Ushahidi open source software program. Chris Kirubi’s daughter Maryanne Kirubi Musangi a banker and Chase Bank executive Paul Njaga have been appointed to the Betting Control and Licensing Board.
