Dr. Kidero On The Receiving End For Renaming Popular City Road After Visiting Tanzania President (Photos)
Nairobi County boss is facing fierce opposition from city dwellers and Kenyans from all over after he unilaterally decided to rename a road after visiting Tanzania President.
His Excellency Jakaya Kikwete is in the country to hold bilateral talks with President Uhuru. The Bongo president and Unye officially launched the construction of the multinational Arusha-Holili/Taveta-Voi road corridor in Taita-Taveta County and thereafter he made his way to Nairobi.
Upon arrival in the city, Kikwete visited Uhuru at State House where the two leaders deliberated on a range of topics with the aim of fostering closer ties between Kenya and Tanzania.
Baba Ngina then hosted a State Banquet in honor of his Tanzanian counterpart. It was after concluding his business in the house on the hill that President Jakaya paid Nairobi Governor a courtesy call.
Kidero had goodies in store for the Tanzanian President. One of his gifts to Jakawa was the renaming of Milimani Road to Jakaya Kikwete Road.
The Nairobi sheriff termed the move as a strategy aimed at cementing the longstanding friendship and trade relations between Kenya and Tanzania.
Most Nairobians were however not pleased at all by the action of the Nairobi Governor. Kenyans have been busy blasting Kidero for what can best be described as ass-kissing.
