Introducing PREM: A new TV series set to top ‘Changing Times’ and ‘Shuga’
Insignia Productions have done it again. This group of young producers, script writers and directors have once again managed to give Kenyans another reason to be proud of our film industry’s growth.
Just a few months ago, Insignia Productions brought to screen their then latest works, Comedy Club which so far has proved to be a success and a scheduled entertainment plan for most Kenyans. What about ‘Changing Times’? Well, aside from the fact that it was only one of the best drama series that Kenya has ever had for quite a while, it also birthed and gave recognition to the next huge, ‘headed to Hollywood’ actor, Kevin Ndege who last year won the ‘Best Actor’ Award in the Zanzibar International Film Festival for his role in the riveting drama ‘Inside Story’.
The Insignia Productions guys are now about to launch their latest work of art. Their latest contribution to the impressively fast growing Kenyan film industry. The next hot Kenyan TV series. One that is about to give MALI and ‘Lies That Bind’ a run for their money. PREM (love).
A story of love against all odds. A connection beyond culture. Here is a brief synopsis of the soon to air PREM from the Insignia team.
Eddie is your average 25 year old Kenyan guy, just trying to survive and hustling to stay alive.
He is in love with the beautiful Leila and they have been dating for the last five years.
Leila has kept her relationship with Eddie a secret from her family because she knows that they would disapprove. Our story starts at the point where the couple must decide if they will stay together.
Eddie consults his trusted friend, Kip for advice. He must choose between Leila and Angie, his childhood love.
Leila is also split between two choices, to obey her family or follow her heart.
PREM takes a unique look at Kenyan culture, and the diversity of its members. Eddie’s side has a variety of characters, from the stylish, sassy Angie and her friends, and also the ever hustling Steve. Leila’s side of the story explores the usually hidden Indian society of Kenya.
