Unfair Competition? Bahati Slashes Standard Recording Charge By Half To Woo Artists To His New Studio
Bahati’s entrepreneurial instincts have kicked in and he’s out to give household names a run for their money.
About a week ago, ‘Kuchukuchu’ hit maker launched a new recording studio in Eastlands which he said was to serve sprouting artists.
Ghafla! sat down with the gospel singer to shed light on how he intends to assist upcoming musicians who in most cases don’t have the financial means to propel their careers.
The most gripping question was how much Bahati charges artists to record at EMB Records. While the standard charge for recording audio is Kes 20,000, Bahati charges artist half the price (Kes 10,000) to record at EMB.
“Hakuna msee anafaa arecord song hapa EMB na zaidi ya 10k, hakuna.” Bahati told Ghafla!
He says the studio has an offer for artists for the next 30 days. Artists who will record at EMB during this month will only pay Kes 7,000.
Bahati also told us he will be sponsoring a new artist every year to record a song and shoot a world class video.
