United In Impunity? Nyeri MCAs Unanimously Kick Out Nation Reporters From Recording Their Proceedings (Photo)

Members of County Assemblies (MCAs) have been hitting the news for their ghastly appetite in misusing public funds. Now it seems they are going after entities that have been reporting them to their employers, the electorates.

We have heard cases of MCAs flying abroad to learn about waste management, others for a benchmarking trip and numerous other unnecessary foreign tours that cost taxpayers millions and millions of money.

Cases of dubious deals involving MCAs have been many and all of them it’s the media that sounded the alarm.

NTV and The Daily Nation exposed a plan by Nyeri County MCAs to control Kes 6 million as a ward development fund and further 15M for public participation.

This was the genesis of NMG and Nyeri MCAs’ brawl. The latter is accusing the former of continuously inciting the public against them by misreporting.

It was for this reason that the MCAs ganged up to have Nation reporters kicked out of Nyeri County Assembly.

The Daily Nation reports Nyeri County Assembly Speaker, David Mugo, has ordered NMG to publish an apology in the daily if they wish to continue covering the assembly’s proceedings.
