Where to Catch Skyfall this Weekend

Skyfall is out. It will be showing at Starflix Theatres at Prestige and Village Market.

A brilliantly directed (Sam Mendes) and shot (Roger Deakins) opening scene involves some brilliant action set-piece that is typical of Chris Corbould who has mostly worked doing action scenes for Christopher Nolan films. He has previously done 11 other Bond films stretching back to the ’80s. The scene is probably one of the most physically-tasking from any Bond film.

Agent 007 is called back to service when a hard-drive containing the names of every undercover NATO agent is stolen and the identities of five released on YouTube every week.

The film’s highlight is the villain, Silva, played by Javier Bardem, who is now making it a habit of bringing to life some of the most lovable but ruthless villains in film history. One portrayal already got him an Oscar (No Country For Old Men’s Anton Chigurh).
