MaVulture Graffiti Being Used as Video Backdrops
Now the famous vulture murals are being used as backdrops for music videos. We are not surprised. The graffiti was initially done guerilla-style but it was later discovered to have been organized by acclaimed photographer and CNN Journalist of the Year award winner, Boniface Mwangi.
The murals were in the news a couple of months ago when the Nairobi City Council tried covering them up and there was even a protest meant to pause the process. Obviously, the artists won and musicians are embracing the art pieces for obvious reasons.
Jaguar next video for his new single, Matapeli, was partly shot in front of the first and most recognizable of the murals, right next to City Market on Muindi Mbingu street. That part of the video also features Makadara MP, Mike Sonko. That bit is expected to be only a small part of the video. Now there’s this video that has almost entirely been shot right in front of the same graffiti.
The track is Siku Njema and it’s by Nash Lyrionaire. Check it out below.
