On Saturday night, what appeared to be the ‘entire country’ was plunged into darkness around 10.00pm and Kenyans were left stunned and questioning just what happened.

Kenya Power came out saying one of its main service stations had experienced a short circuit, which resulted in a chain effect that cut power supply to the entire capital city and its environment, the coast as well as pockets of geographical areas across the country.

Kenyans on Twitter did there spectacular best again, coming up with a trending topic, #kenyapowersongs which made it to a global top trend once again. The hash tag was a comical twist to popular songs being modified as dedications to the country’s sole power supply on missing the mark in supply.
