Star-studded Line-up Of Hollywood Celebrities Including Leonardo DiCaprio And Nicole Kidman To Join President Uhuru In Nairobi To Make History On April 30th
The world is coming to Kenya! A-List Hollywood celebrities will be flying to Nairobi to join President Uhuru in an event that will be covered the world over!!
President Uhuru Kenyatta will torch some 105 tonnes of elephant tusks and 1.35 tonnes of rhino horns at Nairobi National Park on April 30th.
Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) seized the ivory from poachers over a long period of time and stockpiled them.
The ceremony to burn the ivory will be attended by international celebrities including Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio, actress Nicole Kidman, former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg, Microsoft co-founder Billionaire Paul Allen, former NBA player Yao Ming among others.
The occasion is meant to send a strong signal that world leaders don’t tolerate poaching and illegal trade in ivory.
The demand of ivory in Asia has been the major factor that has fueled poaching in Africa which in turn caused the dwindling numbers of jumbos and even threatened to eradicate some species of rhinos.
