In a strategic move to energize its support base, the DCP also launched a collection of rallying songs. These tracks feature lyrics specifically crafted to resonate with Kenyans and underscore the party’s core messages in what is shaping up to be a significant political contest against President William Ruto’s administration.
The two initial songs released—one performed in Kiswahili and the other in English—center around themes of national liberation, the need to improve citizens’ financial well-being (“redeeming the payslip”), the importance of government responsiveness (“listening to Kenyans”), and the commitment to expanding democratic freedoms and civic space within the country.
The DCP, whose central campaign slogan is the Swahili phrase Skiza Wakenya (meaning Listen to Kenyans), officially launched on this day, May 15, 2025, in the Lavington suburb of Nairobi. This launch marks a significant step in Rigathi Gachagua’s unfolding political ambitions as the nation gears up for the 2027 general elections.
