‘Nimechoka kujificha’-Bahati Admits He Has Not Shaved His Hair
Musician Bahati has finally confessed to misleading his fans about shaving his hair, a promise he made based on the outcome of an Arsenal football match. The singer had publicly vowed to go bald if his favorite team, Arsenal, lost their game against Paris Saint-Germain. Adding a personal stake to the bet, Bahati mentioned that he had made the same wager with his wife, Diana Marua.
When Arsenal indeed suffered a defeat, Diana Marua playfully armed herself with garden shears, ready to make good on the bet and remove Bahati’s signature tiny dreadlocks. However, Bahati was clearly not keen on a DIY haircut. Instead of facing his wife’s impromptu barber skills, he reportedly called a professional barber to their home the following day, implying that he would be fulfilling his promise then.
Just hours later, Bahati posted a seemingly convincing photograph on his social media accounts. The image portrayed him with a completely shaved head, sporting a clean-cut look. While the photo initially led some fans to believe he had followed through with his bet, many others remained skeptical. These unconvinced followers quickly demanded video evidence to substantiate the photographic claim.
Despite the calls for a video, Bahati continued to share more photos of himself with the clean-shaven look. However, as more images surfaced, it became increasingly apparent to many eagle-eyed fans that the singer had not actually shaved his hair. The inconsistencies and tell-tale signs in the photos suggested digital manipulation, leading to widespread accusations of Bahati having photoshopped his appearance to create the illusion of a shaved head. Numerous fans called him out for what they perceived as an obvious deception.
Now, over a week after the match and the initial photos, Bahati has finally come clean and admitted to his playful ruse. He shared a recent photograph of himself on social media, clearly showing that his dreadlocks are still intact. In his accompanying caption, Bahati humorously confessed that he was tired of maintaining the charade. He even joked that his photo editor was equally exhausted from the task of altering his images to make it appear as though he had shaved his head.
“Nimechoka kujificha pia editor anasema amechokaaaa kunibadilisha vichwa,” Bahati wrote, which translates from Swahili to English as, “I’m tired of hiding, even the editor says they are tired of changing my head.”
This admission brings an end to the lighthearted saga that unfolded after Arsenal’s loss, revealing Bahati’s attempt to playfully dupe his fanbase before ultimately confessing to his little white lie.
