A Dream Come True! Retracing Last Night’s Date With Kalekye Mumo

Last night was epic! I got to rub shoulders with industry’s heavyweight in Westlands. But no other celeb was of vital importance than Kalekye Mumo.

My colleagues and I landed in K1 Westlands in a rather low tone. Our taxi dropped us by the game and we were subjected to vigorous body search.

Damn! The security was tight, one could tell someone from high office on the land was present. But this was not the case, the only person in close contact with Baba Ngina who we spotted by the Big Ted.

Back to business, we walk in and sat close to the stage; where we had unparalleled view of the whole arena.

Tick tock, it was now a waiting game. Our date was nowhere to be seen. We got engaged in a little idle talk to pass time. All this while our eyes kept a close watch of the entrance.

Out of the blues there she was, Kalekye Mumo had finally arrived. Her winsome smile injected energy in revelers who were murmuring in low tone.

A little bit of hangs here and there, selfies with her fans and finally the MC, Fundi Frank, made the much awaited announcement.

‘Kalekye Mumo is in the house, are you ready for the official launch of her video?” The hype man fired up the crowd.

For starters, Kalekye dropped her new single dubbed ‘Rescue’ a while back. (Audio version). Last night she officially launched the video at K1.

The Kiss FM presenter-cum-singer first took the stage to give revelers a hint of what to expect of her. She sang ‘My Baby’ as a starter and boy, she nailed it.

The audience was left demanding more. Of course she gave them what they wanted. She graced the stage the second time to drop a breathing-taking performance.

Don’t judge a book by its cover or is by its author? Whatever the case. Kalekye may be a plus size beauty but when it comes to shaking what her mama gave her, skinny chicks may choke in envy.

Finally! I got to watch Kalekye perform live! A dream come true indeed!!
