Al Jazeera Documentary Ignites Wrath Of Government As Media Council Of Kenya Is Required To Act On It

The government of Kenya is outraged by a documentary called Inside Kenya’s Death Squads which was aired by Al Jazeera Television exposing how the government is killing whomever it suspects is a threat to the Kenyan security.

The documentary highlighted the killing of Muslim clerics in Mombasa and other people in Kenya who are thought to jeopardize the stability of the country.

The government has now come out strongly to refute the allegations made in the documentary, terming the whole thing reckless and inflammatory.

The principal secretary for information, communication and technology Joseph Tiampati says that the government has already written to the Media Council of Kenya complaining about the authenticity of the documentary and wants action to be taken upon Al Jazeera for what they say is false information.

The government also wants immediate retraction of the documentary and an apology from Al Jazeera .

It says that the fundamental principles of accuracy and fairness that form the basis of good journalism have been ignored by Al Jazeera as the documentary is reckless and one-sided.

Here is the documentary where Kenyan security officers were interviewed by Al Jazeera and gave an account on how they assassinate whomever they suspect is a threat to the well being of Kenyans:
