Angry Adenta Residents Riot

There was an accident on one of the deadliest stretch of roads in the country. An SHS student died today when a taxi driver knocked her down on the Madina-Adentan highway.

Moreover, this was the latest in a string of accidents on that road. This stirred up anger in the residents

Myjoyonline reports that the victim is a student of the West Africa Senior High School (WASS).

That stretch of the highway is particularly deadly due to numerous structural issues, not least of which is the lack of a footbridge.

Since the accident, angry residents have since taken over the road and are rioting. They demand that action be taken to make the road safer. They burnt tires and chanted ‘no more deaths’.

Incredibly, this death marks the 195th on the highway in 2018.
