Arnold Malcolm Urges Majembe to Resolve Disputes and Take Vurugu 2 Opportunity
US-based TikTok content creator Arnold Malcolm has weighed in on the ongoing debate surrounding boxer Majembe and the upcoming Vurugu 2 event, urging the fighter to put aside his concerns and return to the ring.
In a TikTok video shared on Sunday, June 14, 2026, Malcolm said the opportunity was too valuable for Majembe to walk away from, arguing that the financial reward and exposure attached to the fight made it worth reconsidering.
Malcolm Calls for Resolution
His comments come amid reports of disagreements between Majembe and organisers over contractual terms ahead of the highly anticipated bout.
While acknowledging that contract issues may exist, Malcolm said such disagreements are common in business and can be handled through communication and negotiation.
He encouraged both sides to find common ground, saying the event could benefit everyone involved if they reached an agreement.
“Majembe, go back to the fight and take the money. Don’t let that money go. Yes, I know there are problems with the contract. They are usually there. Go and take that money because in the future there is struggling,” Malcolm said.
The content creator added that the matter should not be viewed as a personal conflict but rather as a business arrangement where all parties are trying to benefit.
Questions Over Fan Tips
Malcolm also raised concerns about the issue of tips from supporters, suggesting that Majembe should have direct access to any money fans choose to give him.
He questioned the need for systems that could limit fighters from receiving direct support.
“Obinna, just allow Majembe to be given tips from people. Not that software of tips that’s there. If there are tips, let Majembe get his own tip,” he said.
Despite the concerns, Malcolm maintained that the focus should remain on ensuring the fight happens.
He argued that both Majembe and event organiser Oga Obinna have business interests to protect and should negotiate a solution.
Fight Purse Debate
Malcolm pointed to the reported financial package attached to the fight, saying such an opportunity is rare in Kenyan boxing.
“People should just sit down and agree. A one-hour fight being paid 500,000, even Kenya Boxing Federation has never given boxers such an amount of money,” he stated.
He urged Majembe to consider the bigger picture and avoid missing out on what he described as a major opportunity.
Mbavu Destroyer Joins the Debate
Malcolm’s comments came shortly after fellow boxer Mbavu Destroyer reignited criticism against Majembe, questioning why the fighter appeared hesitant to face Somali Boxer.
Mbavu claimed Majembe’s reluctance to accept the challenge proved his point about the boxer avoiding tough opponents.
“Also, why is he afraid to face the Somali Boxer? That proves my point,” Mbavu said.
The outspoken fighter also challenged Majembe to improve his fitness and prepare properly if the two eventually meet in the ring.
With Vurugu 2 continuing to attract attention online, fans are now waiting to see whether Majembe and organisers will resolve their differences and allow the fight to proceed.
