Battle Of The Learned Friends; Kipchumba Murkomen, Ahamednassir Abdullahi Engage Prof. Makau Mutua In A Fierce Twitter Battle

President Uhuru Kenyatta was vindicated by the ICC after a case where he was indicted for masterminding the 2007 post-election violence was dismissed for lack of evidence.

This, to many of his supporters, was the best news they have received this year. A Christmas gift come early was what the president received.

It can be remembered that among those who have strongly supported the ICC’s pursuit of President Kenyatta is Professor Makau Mutua, who is the Dean of the University at Buffalo Law School in America.

Prof. Makau has written numerous articles in Kenyan dailies from his home in the US criticizing Kenyatta and his government and supporting the ICC on the cases involving him and his deputy, William Ruto.

However, following the president’s acquittal of the charges against him, Kenyan lawyers have launched an attack on the professor who is well known for his mantra ‘Crystal Balls’.

Under hash tag #Crystalballs, Kipchumba and Dennis Itumbi, flanked by lawyer Ahamednassir Abdullahi have landed on Makau’s previous articles and this is what was going on on twitter:

Makau, however, was not quick to give a rejoinder but wondered in a tweet that people had thought he would commit suicide after Kenyatta was set free.

He tweeted:
