Caster Semenya earns IAAF nomination

Caster Semenya is on the list of the nominees for IAAF’s Female World Athlete of the Year.

Before the winner is announced on December 4th, the list of 10 nominees will be reduced to five.

Caster earned her nomination after dominating the 800m, winning the Commonwealth Games, African championships, Diamond League and Continental Cup.

She has been nominated for the award before, but has never won it.

The public has thus been urged to vote on the IAAF’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. The public will make up 25% of the vote, the IAAF council 50% and the IAAF ‘family’ 25%.

Voting closes on November 12th.
